In many situations, spouses work with their respective divorce attorneys and reach an agreement on custody; however, there are times when the attorneys believe that mediation may be the best course of action to resolve the financial (property and support) issues of the Maryland Property Divorce Settlement.

Typically the spouses' attorneys will arrange an initial meeting with a Mediator, providing him or her with background on the case issues that need to be addressed. The attorneys can then attend all, none, or a number of the meetings depending upon their client’s needs.

John has participated in over forty Maryland Collaborative Divorce cases. He uses this experience as a Collaborative Financial Neutral to create settlement options that help resolve differences in mediation.

As a CPA and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, John possesses a high level of tax proficiency in divorce matters. He has also been a Certified Financial Planner® since 1989. He has worked with many Maryland Family Law Practitioners and has appeared as an Expert Witness.

John uses his knowledge, skills, and experience to help spouses settle their disputes in an expedient manner.  Mediations are best conducted in John’s offices where he has the facilities to conduct private caucuses with attorneys and their clients. John will, however, gladly come (without travel costs) to the attorney’s offices, if that is a more suitable arrangement.
